Why AimBolt

Any estimator can count tops - we see them the way a fabricator will build them

Why Only Countertops

Through The Eyes of a Fabricator

Countertops are often treated as an upgrade, yet commercial countertop packages regularly finish at zero margin. The reason is usually preconstruction: a general estimator can quantify the scope, but can’t see the slab sizes, seams, waste, cutouts and install conditions a fabricator will face.

AimBolt was founded in 2016 to close that gap for the millworkers and fabricators who carry this scope.

Why Clients Use Us

Six Reasons To Trust Our Quantities

  • Specialists, Not Generalists — Quartz, solid surface, granite, marble and laminate – countertop scope is the only thing we take off
  • The Fabricator’s Eye — Slab yield, seams, edges, splash and cutouts counted the way the job will actually be built
  • Senior Review — Nothing leaves without review by an estimator with 20+ years in commercial preconstruction
  • Built Around Your Bid Date — Turnaround is set by your deadline; addenda are turned inside your schedule
  • One Consistent Format — The same scope-sheet structure every time – or yours
  • Independent & Confidential — Your drawings, quantities and scope sheets are never shared with other clients

Which Service is Best for Me?

For Fabricators – the Estimator’s Package is the best solution for your needs. Every detail of scope and every unique labor variable required for complete fabrication is quantified into a simple, easy-to-read worksheet.

For Millworkers – Depends on your use of the takeoff.  If you wish to send your takeoff to multiple fabricators, the Estimator’s Package is best since you’ll want each of your subcontractors to be consistent in the scope covered.  If you’re using it for your own budget – then consider the Basic Package to keep costs low.

For those Aggressive Millworkers – have AimBolt prepare an Estimator’s Package for your subcontractors, then sell them the scope takeoff! Win-Win for all parties!

For Suppliers – the Basic Package is the perfect fit.  Simple and consice – this package will give you all the information required to order the correct quantity of product for your customer.

We Are & We Are Not...

We Are experts exclusively in Architectural Surfaces — it is the only scope we touch. Every takeoff delivered by AimBolt comes from someone who has worked the fabrication side of this industry firsthand. We have run the saws, programmed the CNCs, lifted the stone, and polished the finishes. We look at your project through the eyes of a fabricator — because that is exactly what we are.

We Are Not the final word on your project scope. Our role is to get you within reach of the finish line — armed with a comprehensive, accurate scope baseline so that you and your team can confirm final quantities, confidently price the project, and walk into the bid meeting ready to win.

We Are built for the complex, detail-heavy projects that clog your pipeline. The large commercial jobs with dozens of plan sheets, multiple surface conditions, and tight bid deadlines — that is where AimBolt delivers the most value. Send us what slows your team down and let us clear the path.

We Are Not limited to standard turnaround only. Rush delivery is available for time-sensitive bids — because we understand that in this industry, deadlines don’t move. Submit your project and select your required turnaround at intake. We will confirm availability within two hours of submission.

Why Only Architectural Surfaces?

Maybe this note from our founder will best explain the answer:

One of the most common questions we get is “Why only Architectural Surfaces & Countertops?” Why not perform takeoffs for other construction divisions? Any estimator can perform quantity takeoffs, right? So why focus on such a specialized niche? Great question — and the answer is found in our history.

When the US economy launched commercial construction to unprecedented growth levels, we noticed a troubling trend — specialty scopes were beginning to suffer while every other trade seemed to be thriving.

The reason was clear after digging in: jobs were not being bid properly and scopes were not complete or accurate. This was especially true in niche markets like Architectural Surfaces, Countertops, and other finish scopes dealing in unique and exotic materials. The product offering was always considered an upgrade — yet commercial projects were netting zero profitability for the Fabricators and Millworkers executing them.

The root cause? Just to keep up with bid demands, Fabricators and Millworkers started hiring anyone with general construction estimating experience. Sounds reasonable, right? Not really — and this became one of the single most critical factors in creating AimBolt.

A typical estimator can quantify a scope and find all the pieces. What a general construction estimator cannot do is look at that scope through the eyes of a Fabricator. The inexperience of how these products are fabricated and installed created a chain effect that put some of the strongest Fabricators and Millworkers out of business in one of the best economies this country has ever seen.

AimBolt was built to fix that. To bring fabrication-level expertise to the pre-construction phase — and raise the bidding standards for the Architectural Surfaces industry. Every takeoff we deliver comes from someone who has worked the fabrication side firsthand. We have run the saws, programmed the CNCs, lifted the stone, sanded the coves, and polished to perfection. We look at your project through the eyes of a Fabricator — because that is exactly what we are.

Today, AimBolt combines that same hands-on expertise with industry-leading AI markup technology — delivering faster, more accurate takeoffs without sacrificing the fabrication-specific insight that makes the difference between a winning bid and a losing one.

Since it is no secret that you Win More when you Bid More — we are committed to giving you the confidence to attack every project full throttle, close more deals, and protect your margins — knowing your scope is covered through the eyes of a Fabricator.

We are honored to serve you and look forward to a long and profitable relationship!
